The Ballarat Business Centre is a place to nurture and grow new and emerging businesses to assist them to prosper.
The Ballarat Business Centre is an affordable location where members are provided with their own subsidised office space to grow their business. The Centre provides advice as well as a range of support services and networking opportunities, to assist small businesses to become established and profitable.
The Ballarat Business Centre manage 4 sites across Ballarat:
- 706 Sturt Street, Ballarat
- 6-8 Lowe Street, Ballarat
- 56 Lydiard Street South, Ballarat
- 2b Holmes Street, Ballarat
All sites provide opportunities for members to network and cross refer clients for services.
Members have access to a range of learning, networking and social activities arranged by the Ballarat Business Centre staff. The Ballarat Business Centre also provides low-cost confidential and professional advice to people thinking of starting up in business and for people who are currently operating a small business.
At the Centre we are fortunate to have developed a lively business environment that encourages small business growth and prosperity. A large number of successful businesses transition out of the Centre each year into commercial premises enabling them to prosper.
Membership
Ballarat Business Centre members are provided with their own office or work space and a supportive environment in which to grow their business. Members share the Centre’s premises and have access to a range of support services.

Ballarat Business Centre have an excellent range of Flexible Office and Work Spaces available for short term hire to assist with your commercial dealings, these include: Small, Medium and Large Flexible Spaces that can be configured for a wide range of purposes to suit your business needs. You do not need to be a member to hire Flexible Spaces.

Our Story
The Ballarat Business Centre, formerly known as the Ballarat Regional Incubator Ltd, was established in October 2001, to create a Business incubator in Dawson Street South, Ballarat, to provide a space for new small businesses to launch with the assistance of Business mentoring and guidance. Since this time the Ballarat Business Centre has continued to build it’s ability to support small start-up and emerging businesses in the Ballarat Region.
In 2018, The Ballarat Business Centre opened a new site, home to our head office, at 706 Sturt Street. This building provides 25 offices and a range of Flexible Spaces across two levels, with lift access. Then in 2021, the Ballarat Business Centre opened two further sites at; 6-8 Lowe Street and 56 Lydiard Street. With the introduction of the new sites together with our Sturt Street and Holmes Street sites, we are able to offer a variety of Business accommodation and support services for people looking to start a small business.
Today the Ballarat Business Centre provides around 70 Offices, multiple Flexible Spaces and industrial work spaces across all sites. The Ballarat Business Centre is focused on building the success of small Business and continues to provide vital assistance through the provision of advice, training, mentoring and support for small business owners who are starting or building their futures.
